Field Service

The Office of Library and Information Services provides consultant support to public library directors statewide. Each public library has an OLIS staff member assigned to their library to provide ongoing support and to connect libraries with the appropriate subject matter expert.

Field Service Consultants meet with directors annually at their libraries to learn about the programs, services, accomplishments, and challenges of the state’s public libraries and to share information about OLIS programs and services. Through these visits, OLIS seeks to expand communication with directors to better serve public libraries and their communities and to inform OLIS programs, services and policies.

2024 field service visits will in late summer and early fall with a focus on community outreach and partnerships, public library minimum standards, and buildings and facilities.
