Adult Services Roundtable Purpose The OLIS Adult Services Roundtable connects librarians and staff who provide services, including programming and readers’ advisory, to adults for purposes of discussion, peer education and collaboration. Function To create a community where individuals who plan adult programming, promote various literacies, provide readers’ advisory, and manage relationships with community groups can connect and discuss challenges, opportunities, best practices and current trends in the field. Activities Roundtable participants will: Identify educational and professional needs, determine topics of mutual interest, identify presenters for topical programs or meeting and otherwise participate in the planning of programs and meetings. Collect and share information and news about best practices, programming ideas and troubleshooting issues specific to adult services. Initiate, suggest or sponsor sessions on topics related to adult services for OLIS Continuing Education programs or RILA conferences.
