Talking Books Book Discussion Group

We have recently begun a virtual book discussion group, and our first 2 discussions took place on January 27th and April 27th. It was great to speak with and listen to our members share their feelings and ideas about books. Our discussion group takes place quarterly, and the next session is July 27th at 2:00 via phone line or online through Zoom. To register, email us. To view the schedule and book titles, go to Book Discussion Group.

Rhode Island Collection

We have finally begun recording titles for the Rhode Island Collection. The Doctor Broad: A Mafia Love Story by Barbara Roberts and Killer Show: The Station Night Club Fire, America's Deadliest Rock Concert by John Barylick will be available soon. Read Talking Books News online to learn when these books become available. If there is a title or book relating to Rhode Island or written by a RI author that you would like to read, but it is not in our collection, please let us know. We will review your recommendation and can add the title to our list of books to be recorded.

Tax Deductible Donations

Every gift to the RI Talking Books Library benefits all members of the program. Contributions allow us to fund projects not covered in the general budget. Donations are accepted in memory of a loved one, family member or to honor an individual. If you wish to remain anonymous, please let us know in an accompanying note. To make a donation, send check or money order payable to the RI Talking Books Library and mail to the RI Office of Library & Information Services, Talking Books Library, 1 Capitol Hill, Providence, RI 02908. Your donations are greatly appreciated and are used solely for the purchase of materials for the Talking Books Library.

The Talking Books Library Staff wish you a safe and enjoyable summer!.
