OLIS Launches Summer Reading Pilot
The Office of Library and Information Services will run a pilot project this summer to support intergenerational Summer Reading Programs at 10 libraries in an effort to explore alternative ways to provide programmatic support for Summer Reading. OLIS will partner with Ocean State Media (formerly PBS) and the Providence Children’s Museum to deliver programs and programming kits to the selected libraries, who will receive two partner-delivered programs and two programming kits in lieu of the Summer Reading Mini-grant. Libraries will be expected to provide evaluation and feedback throughout the pilot to help OLIS expand this project to statewide in future summers.
Learn more and apply online. Applications are due February 20. We are looking for a variety of library sizes and locations across the state.
There will be a chance for live Q&A on Wednesday, Feb 11 at 2:00pm. Register for the join link. If you are unable to make that time, you may contact Danielle, Emily, or Nicolette directly.
Libraries that do not apply or are not accepted into the pilot project can apply for the standard mini grant. Those application forms will be sent out the week of March 2.
