A Message from the Rhode Island State Library:

The Presidential Preference Primary will take place on April 2. Mail ballot applications are due by 4 p.m. on Tuesday, March 12, and early voting takes place from Wednesday, March 13 through Monday, April 1. The RI Department of State is dedicated to increasing voter access to the ballot box and bringing civic engagement opportunities into Rhode Island’s communities. We appreciate your assistance in helping educate voters on how to access their ballots.  

To help ensure ballot access, we are sending you links to various resources for your patrons. Providing these resources to your patrons not only helps Rhode Islanders, but also promotes voter turnout by spreading the word about the upcoming presidential preference primary election.

  • How to vote while trans in English and Spanish
  • Printable QR Code to access the online mail ballot application

We will send physical Voter Information Stations for the September Statewide Primary and November General Elections. 

Thank you for working with us to ensure that all eligible Rhode Islanders who wish to participate in the special elections do so by keeping the Voter Information Station readily available and sharing information about the process.
